Went racing at Tauranga Racecourse day after New Year's. We thought it would be a good idea. And so did everyone else. Never seen so many people at the racecourse. We've been couple times before and there's hardly been anyone else there. This day it was packed. We got there just after first race and there wasn't one bit of grass to sit on. Got in the stands so got good view but had taken picnic which would have been better relaxing on the grass. It was good for the kids because both of them saw one of their best friends from school. We tend to give them a lot more freedom out here than we would have dreamt of doing in UK. Both of the kids went exploring on their own with their friends. Laura hobbled round on her crutches and even managed to get on the free fairground rides. On the betting front, Laura had no winners, me and Jo had few winners between us but Adam had 5 winners. We were only betting dollar a race each (35p!!!) so his winnings didn't add up to much but it was an exciting day.
