Short Break to Goat Island

We headed off to Goat Island which is about 90k north of Auckland for a short 3 day break. Booked a campsite on the internet. Jo showed me it for a laugh but I said go for it, it'll be fun. It looked very rustic and back to basics which sounded good for getting away from everything before I have to go back to work Tuesday :(

We broke up the journey and stopped at the Castle Cafe, just before Auckland and then Orewa which is just before Goat Island.


Castle Cafe - Noticed it a few times on trips to Auckland but never stopped off before.

..... and at the UK shop in the town. Laura got crisps as well but didn't want her picture taken. Adam duly obliged though (as normal)


I am pleased to report that there were no bouts of sickness on the journey. Think this is a first for a car ride over 10k.
